Brazil - Amazon Nemo - December Trip

Roland Martin Filming Trip: With so many anglers wanting to come fish with Roland Martin, we decided to bring the smaller boat, "The Tucuna", so that we could accommodate more anglers.  We ended up with 18 anglers between the two boats, which was a perfect number.

The water levels were super low in December, 2009, and as we headed up the Rio Negro River out of Barcelos, we soon found out that we were not going to travel very far. The river was lacking water and unpassable only an hour or so out of Barcelos.

Fortunately, where we "parked" the boat, we had two tributaries to fish as well as the main river. It did not take long to find the fish and, boy, was the fishing ever HOT!! By the end of the 4th day, we had enough filmage to edit out two full shows!

Several big fish were caught by the group, including a 21 lber. by Roland Martin and a 22 lber by Terry Jertberg, the Owner of HighRoller Adventures, LLC..AND ALL CAUGHT ON FILM!!!!

This was Roland's 6th or 7th trip down to the Amazon filming shows, and Roland said it was the very best trip that he had ever taken down there.
